Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College seeks qualified instructors to join its Agriculture Department pool. This is a pooled, ongoing posting for part-time faculty who may teach courses in Crop Science, Soils, and related subjects when needs arise.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, maintain records, and engage with students to support success and equity. Employment requires background checks and adherence to LBCC policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of 27 graduate quarter hours in Agriculture, Horticulture or a field relevant to course(s) taught; OR a master’s degree in another field and a minimum of 27 graduate quarter (or 18 semester) hours in the primary field to be taught; OR equivalency.
• Provisional: bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours in the above field(s) AND in active pursuit of master’s degree or doctorate.
• Career Technical Courses: degree/industry-specific training and two years of work experience in an occupational area; or four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes.
• Complete administrative tasks: assign and grade student work, communicate with students, report attainment of course outcomes, maintain student records, comply with college policies.
• Keep abreast of developments in subject area, educational technology, and innovative teaching techniques.
• Establish opportunities for consistent out-of-class contact with students.
• Ensure lab equipment is used safely and accounted for.
• Promote LBCC's mission and connect students to college support services.
