Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher who demonstrates a mature Christian faith and active church involvement. This role requires delivering LifeWise lessons, maintaining a safe classroom, and communicating with teachers and volunteers to ensure smooth program operations.

The position is non-exempt and hourly, with responsibilities including attendance, classroom management, and community outreach as an ambassador for LifeWise.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
• Follow the program's student discipline policy
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for emergency situations
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties
• Communicate with the teacher
