Job summary

Solid Power is seeking a Materials Engineering Intern to join our team of engineers and scientists advancing next-generation battery technology. You will contribute to cutting-edge research and development in materials development, process optimization, and experimental investigations in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field and eager to apply classroom

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field.
  • Knowledge of materials characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with polymer processing or wet-chemical methods preferred.
  • Understanding of safe handling practices for hazardous materials and lab equipment.
  • Experience with synthetic chemistry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery materials and synthesis methods preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support experimental plans focused on optimizing sulfide solid-state electrolytes.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.
  • Support polymer processing activities: slurry prep, mixing, casting, coating, drying, material handling for development-scale experiments.
  • Document process conditions, observations and results to support optimization and scale-up.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials and lab equipment per procedures.
