Job summary

Solid Power seeks a Materials Engineering Intern to join our team advancing all-solid-state battery technology. You will gain hands-on experience in materials development and experimental research, working with engineers and scientists to optimize sulfide solid-state electrolytes.

The role emphasizes on-site, collaborative learning in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in materials, chemical, or polymer science.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of materials characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with polymer processing or wet-chemical processing methods (preferred).
  • Understanding of safe handling practices for hazardous materials and lab equipment.
  • Experience with synthetic chemistry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery materials, synthesis methods, and materials optimization is preferred.
  • On-site at Louisville, CO required.
  • Background check required for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support experimental plans to optimize sulfide solid-state electrolytes.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.
  • Support polymer processing activities including slurry preparation, casting, coating, drying, and material handling for development-scale experiments.
  • Document process conditions, observations, and results to support optimization and scale-up.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials and lab equipment following procedures.
