Job summary

New Kent Winery is seeking part-time Bar Stewards to greet guests, pour wines and beers, and educate customers about our products.

You will describe production techniques, suggest experiences, and assist with tours. Duties include POS transactions, event setup, stocking products, and maintaining tasting room cleanliness. Must be 21+ and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
• Able to stand continuously for an 8‑hour shift.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Team player with reliable transportation.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Must be 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and pour wines and beers per tasting procedures.
• Describe wines and beers, production techniques and winery history.
• Suggest and sell wine/beer experiences and flight packages.
• Conduct tours and provide tourist information as needed.
• Process routine POS transactions and refunds.
• Assist with event setup, stock products, and clean glassware.
• Help customers to vehicles with large purchases and assist after-sales.

Job Description

New Kent Winery at Dombroski Vineyards is seeking Part‑Time Bar Stewards. We are looking for energetic individuals who share our passion for great wine and beers and have a commitment to excellent customer service to help sell, serve and educate our customers about our world class wines.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and pour wines according to established wine and beer tasting procedures
• Describe wines and beers, production techniques and winery history
• Suggest and sell wines and beers, wine/beer flight experiences, wine clubs and non‑wine products
• Conduct guided tours, as needed, answer questions and provide general tourist information
• Handle routine POS transactions, including operating cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.
• Stay current on winery/brewery knowledge and be able to multitask
• Assist customers to their vehicles with large purchases
• Assist as needed with event setup and breakdown
• Stock wine and non‑wine products, as needed
• Wash and polish glassware for tasting room
• Clear tables, clean dishes
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must be 21+ years old

Skills/Qualifications

• Hospitality or customer service experience preferred
• Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8 hour shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
