Job summary

Water's Edge Banquet Center is seeking a proactive Part-Time Banquet Operations Specialist to manage diverse events from planning to day-of execution, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer satisfaction.

As part of the role, you will assist in scheduling, oversee event setups, beverage services, rentals, and vendor access, and maintain detailed records. You will collaborate with the Sales Department as needed and act as a reliable point of contact for clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• Two years of applicable experience or equivalent education.
• Serv-Safe certification or obtain within one year.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification or obtain within one year.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; proficient with online social media.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to physically participate in banquet center setups, projects and operations.
• Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning work schedules for events at Water's Edge Banquet Center.
• Oversee day-of-event operations including room setups, beverage services, rentals, and vendor access.
• Collaborate with team to maximize event revenues and ensure positive experiences.
• Provide top-tier customer service with timely information to clients, vendors, and planners.
• Maintain compliance with city accounting and purchasing policies for vendor contracts and purchases.
• Keep detailed event records and reports for Water's Edge Banquet Center.
• Assist with inventory ordering and management of materials and supplies.
• Support Sales Department as backup for sales, tours, venue bookings, and events.
• Serve as contact for prospective and booked clients.
• Perform other job-related work as assigned.
• Work effectively under pressure and multi-task.
