Woodlawn Health is seeking a creative and dependable Baker - Food Service Assistant to join our team in the Dietary Department. Put your baking skills to work creating delicious treats while helping make mealtime special for our patients, staff, and visitors.

This is a part-time role that involves restocking, preparing salads and desserts, serving in the cafeteria, handling deliveries, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and pleasant phone technique as required handling various telephone and in-person communication with patients, guests, and other medical providers in a professional manner.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as standardized recipes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Demonstrate ability to operate food service equipment and Point of Sale (Cash Register).
• Ability to prepare food in a safe and sanitary manner and serve modified diets as ordered.
• Ability to cross train with Food Service Assistant and Food Service Hospitality Associate, strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Restock cafeteria refrigerator and salad bar for the next day.
• Prepare special items as requested.
• Prepare salads/desserts for cafeteria/patients according to production sheets.
• Assist serving in cafeteria as needed.
• Take out trash and recycle items according to policy.
• Clean equipment and wash dishes as assigned.
• Monitors and accurately documents food/equipment temperatures per policy
• Operates Point of Sale (Cash Register) as needed.
• Completes weekly inventory as outlined
• Assist with putting deliveries away as needed.
