Job summary

Temple University's Charles Library is seeking a Part-Time Audiovisual Archives Assistant to preserve and catalog film, audio, and other AV materials in the SCRC. The role creates finding aids, implements preservation workflows, and provides access for digitization requests and on-site researchers.

The position requires a BA/BS, at least one year in a library/archive setting, experience with analog film formats, and familiarity with ArchivesSpace, Word, and Excel.

Qualifications

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
• At least one year of experience in a museum, archive, or library setting.
• Experience with analog film formats.
• Experience with legacy audiovisual collections and playback equipment, creating and editing descriptive metadata and participating in digitization, and utilizing ArchivesSpace.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Preserve and catalog/processing of film, audio, and other audiovisual materials in the SCRC.
• Create and update archival finding aids and other access tools.
• Create and implement audiovisual preservation workflows that adhere to archival standards.
• Provide access to physical and digital audiovisual material through researcher digitization requests, short and long-range digitization projects, and on-site visits by a wide range of users.
