Job summary

Bertera Auto Group seeks a knowledgeable attorney to provide part-time legal support for MA and CT dealerships across multiple locations. The role emphasizes practical, business-minded guidance in daily operations, contracting, risk, and compliance, with potential for remote work.

You will advise leadership on employment, consumer, and business law matters, review vendor contracts and leases, and coordinate with outside counsel as needed. Strong judgment and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and general business law.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in consumer-facing businesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to offer practical, solution-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel on matters related to dealership operations, business transactions, and general corporate needs.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, employment-related documents, and commercial leases as needed.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance matters affecting automotive retail operations.
• Support leadership with risk assessment, dispute resolution, and issue escalation.
• Help develop and maintain policies and procedures that support legal compliance and operational consistency across locations.
• Coordinate with outside counsel when specialized legal support is required.
• Advise on employment, consumer, and business law issues relevant to dealership activities.
• Monitor legal developments that may affect the organization and communicate practical recommendations.
• Maintain organized records of legal matters, contracts, and correspondence.
