Job summary

Bertera Auto Group is seeking a knowledgeable attorney to provide part-time legal support for MA and CT multi-location dealerships, collaborating with leadership to deliver practical, business-minded guidance on operations, compliance, contracting and risk management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Experience providing legal support to automotive dealerships, multi-location retail operations, or closely related businesses preferred.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and general business law.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in consumer-facing businesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to offer practical, solution-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Professional judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel on matters related to dealership operations, business transactions, and general corporate needs.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, employment-related documents, and commercial leases as needed.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance matters affecting automotive retail operations.
• Support leadership with risk assessment, dispute resolution, and issue escalation.
• Help develop and maintain policies and procedures that support legal compliance and operational consistency across locations.
• Coordinate with outside counsel when specialized legal support is required.
• Advise on employment, consumer, and business law issues relevant to dealership activities.
• Monitor legal developments that may affect the organization and communicate practical recommendations.
• Maintain organized records of legal matters, contracts, and correspondence.
