Job summary

William & Mary’s Office of the Arts invites applications for a part-time, hourly Audio Technician to support university arts programs, events, rentals, and a diverse season featuring renowned artists across multiple disciplines. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Technical Theatre or equivalent, hands-on experience with sound equipment, Yamaha CL/QL consoles, Dante, QLab, and streaming/recording capabilities.

Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent education, experience, and/or training.
• Comprehensive knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing sound equipment.
• Knowledge of theatrical/music sound systems and their operation.
• Knowledge of Yamaha consoles, specifically the CL/QL family.
• Knowledge of Dante (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet).
• Proficiency in QLab.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with streaming and recording.

• Assessing event-specific audio requirements
• Installing, operating, and troubleshooting sound systems
• Maintaining audio equipment
• Supporting venue operations
• Supervising student production crews
• Ensuring all audio systems are prepared for daily academic, university, and external rental use
