Job summary

William & Mary’s Office of the Arts invites applications for the part-time, hourly Audio Technician. The role supports performances, rehearsals, lectures, and events, installs and operates sound systems, maintains equipment, and supervises student crews to ensure reliable audio for campus and external rentals.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Technical Theatre or equivalent, knowledge of Yamaha CL/QL consoles, Dante, QLab, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent education/experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing sound equipment.
• Familiarity with theatrical/music sound systems and their operation (Yamaha CL/QL).
• Knowledge of Dante networking and proficiency with QLab; MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for shows, rehearsals, and events throughout the year.
• Install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain audio systems and equipment.
• Supervise student sound crews during load-in, performances, and strikes.
