Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Part-Time Audio/Visual Technician to support the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and Eisenhower Chapel. The role is the Center's primary AV resource, responsible for operation, maintenance, and support of audio, video, livestreaming, presentation, and hybrid meeting technologies for services, meetings, conferences, and events.

Qualifications

• Professional training or certification in audio/visual technology or related field.
• Experience operating professional audiovisual systems in conference, educational, performance, worship, or event environments.
• Strong working knowledge of digital audio systems, microphones, projectors, presentation software, Zoom, livestreaming technologies, and hybrid meeting platforms.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment and provide timely technical support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train staff and student employees.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Center's primary audiovisual resource for operation and support of systems.
• Set up, operate, monitor, and secure equipment for services, events, and meetings.
• Develop and deliver ongoing training for staff and students on AV setup and troubleshooting.
• Create user guides and documentation to improve staff competency.
• Provide on-site AV support for major religious services, guest speakers, conferences, and events.
• Support hybrid and virtual meetings by managing Zoom and livestreaming technologies.
• Conduct pre-event testing and equipment checks; troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and manage equipment inventories.
