Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with advanced vocational training and 2 years in audiovisual or building maintenance.
• Professional certification may be required by state regulations.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Strong communication, reading/writing, and math skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, and lighting fixtures for events.
• Set up and operate sound equipment and spotlights.
• Confer with meeting or concert director to establish cues and directions; coordinate audio with television images.
• Test, diagnose and repair media system issues and ensure quality of sound feeds.
• Maintain inventory and ensure safe transfer and shipment of equipment.
• Educate and train venue staff in the proper use of equipment as needed.
• Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints and requests.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
