Job summary

Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is building a pool of associate faculty for part-time, hourly teaching assignments on the Santa Rosa, CA campus. Positions may be evening, weekend, online or hybrid and are not remote-only.

Compensation is hourly and based on discipline, with Step 1 initial placement for experienced candidates. Responsibilities include delivering instruction, offering student support during office hours, and staying current in the subject area.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience directly related to teaching assignment; or an associate's degree and six years of professional experience; or equivalent; or a valid California Community College Instructor's Credential in Industrial, Machine and Related Technologies.
Sensitivity to, and understanding of, diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, which may include evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off-campus assignments.
Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Maintain currency in field(s) of expertise.
Associate faculty focus primarily on providing instruction and/or student services.
Associate faculty are typically not required to participate in District or department service, but may be asked to perform these services for additional compensation.
