Job summary

Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Part-time Associate Estimator in its Commercial and Industrial division to help develop accurate bids for large-scale electrical projects.

You will assist in takeoffs, attend pre-bid meetings, review drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors to produce competitive estimates, supporting project turnovers with clear scope and cost details.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand, and/or possess basic knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Analytical and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
• Self-motivated, proactive and a team player

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or prepare estimates per MYR Group policies by calculating takeoffs and input into estimating software
• Attend pre-bid meetings and determine constructability requirements per proposal documents
• Review proposals and drawings to evaluate scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Ensure estimate accuracy and meet deadlines
• Identify qualified suppliers and solicit quotes
• Participate in estimate review with stakeholders
• Explain the estimate and scope to Project Management after bid
