Job summary

PFD Electric, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Commercial Electrical Estimator to lead bidding for complex projects across Arizona. Hybrid work arrangements allow most work-from-home days while engaging with field leadership on preconstruction tasks, proposals, and bid management.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, strong takeoff skills, and proficiency with Conest Estimating Software to drive accurate, competitive bids and project handoffs.

Qualifications

• Mandatory proficiency and hands-on experience using Conest Estimating Software.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction and/or estimating.
• Proven ability to perform detailed electrical takeoffs and build complete bid packages from scratch.
• Strong expertise in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and project documents.
• In-depth understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, labor productivity, and material costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects from initial plan review through final proposal submission.
• Perform detailed electrical takeoffs to calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for hard-bid, design-build, and budgetary projects.
• Collaborate with the Director of Field Operations to establish project scope, constructability approach, risk profiles, and labor assumptions.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing while proactively identifying missing information or bid clarifications.
• Maintain an organized estimating pipeline to track active bid deadlines, scope revisions, and proposal statuses.
• Prepare complete project turnover packages upon award to ensure seamless transitions for budget, labor assumptions, and vendor commitments.
• Review estimated versus actual project performance post‑completion to continuously optimize future bidding accuracy.
