Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Ohio to support daily store operations and customer service, while guiding a team of Store Associates. This part-time role requires leadership in merchandising, loss prevention, and staff development, with emphasis on safety, policy adherence, and positive customer interactions.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, organizing stock, processing directives, and ensuring a well-stocked floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred
• Lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers with questions in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling
• Keep store and stockroom well-stocked and organized
• Protect store assets including cash and safety compliance
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
