Job summary

Family Dollar in Indianapolis is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, supervise associates, and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.

This is a part-time role with hands-on responsibilities in a national retail chain. Responsibilities include directing store activities, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as part of daily tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Support merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain promotional displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and supervise Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
