Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager in training and supervising store associates.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, friendly environment, preserving store standards, and ensuring efficiency in procedures and payroll-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention duties
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Supervise and develop Store Associates with the Store Manager
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store areas neat, restocked, and presentable
