Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Alliance, OH to support store operations, assist customers, and oversee daily activities. The role involves merchandising, staffing, and training responsibilities within a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties (frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, etc.)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment in interactions with customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash removed
• Other duties as assigned
