Job summary

Dollar Tree in Orrville, Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, assist customers, and develop the team in a fast-paced retail environment.

This part-time role requires leadership potential, excellent communication, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will help organize merchandise, train staff, and maintain clean, inviting store conditions. Join our team and contribute to service excellence.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
