Job summary

ZP Connect is hiring an Interpreter to provide high quality American Sign Language interpretation through video in a call center and on-site at various customer locations. The role requires fluent ASL and spoken English, accurate interpreting, and strict adherence to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.

This part-time position includes benefits and potential for travel. Essential duties include providing VRS, VRI, and on-site interpreting, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 24 hours per week.
• Must accept new or alternative interpreting assignments for a scheduled shift based on customer demand
• Must pass the company's interpreting skills assessment
• Must attend and successfully complete a 40 hour New Hire Training
• Three to five years of interpreting experience preferred but not required
• State licensure or state-required credentials if applicable
• You must be 18 years or older to apply

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and on-site interpreting for consumers
• Support and model the company’s mission and values
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
• Exhibit professional behavior including punctuality and preparedness for shifts, respectful interaction with colleagues and supervisors, and timely record keeping
• Adhere to policies and FCC regulations
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to new technologies
• Multi-task between interpreting and video-based technology
• Participate in company-sponsored training for Professional Development
• Meet performance expectations with minimal supervision
• Work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in all settings
• Ability to travel independently with access to a vehicle and required insurance
• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills
• Able to provide accurate interpretation
• Understanding of Deaf culture
• NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct adherence
• Ideally 3–5 years of interpreting experience
• State licensure or state-required credentials where applicable
