Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis is seeking an ASL Interpreter on a part-time basis to provide interpreting services in classrooms, meetings, and on-campus events. The role requires fluent American Sign Language and spoken English, with flexibility to support student schedules and occasional weekend work.

You will join an in-house pool of interpreters, with assignments offered based on availability.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or 3 years of interpreting experience.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and English.
• Nationally and/or state certified or pursuing certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
• Engage in preparation and effective customer relations.
• Interpret in classroom and non-academic settings for diverse clients.
• Assess language needs and adjust interpreting for accuracy.
• Meet with coordinator, review materials, and confirm assignments.
• Maintain accurate timesheets in Ivy Tech’s time reporting system.
• Communicate professionally in all settings.
• Complete Ivy Lead Trainings promptly.
