Job summary

Aspire Indiana Health, Inc. is seeking a part-time American Sign Language (ASL) Staff Interpreter to join our Deaf Services Team.

The role involves providing interpreting services to Deaf, Deaf-blind and hard of hearing clients, and to hearing individuals when communicating with Deaf colleagues. Responsibilities include coordinating interpreters, scheduling freelance staff, teaching adaptive equipment use, and building strong relationships with Aspire staff and external contacts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language or related field preferred.
• RID certification or state certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services to Deaf, Deaf-blind and hard of hearing clients in clinical or admin settings.
• Coordinate schedules of interpreting staff and freelance interpreters.
• Provide instruction in use of adaptive equipment.
• Build and maintain relationships with Aspire staff and external contacts.
• Schedule with agencies for freelance interpreters, as needed.
• Respond to management direction calmly and effectively.
• Collaborate with all parties to support client goals.
