Job summary

ESS Clinical in the Indianapolis area is seeking dedicated ASL interpreters for school-based assignments. This role supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by providing accurate, impartial interpretation during classroom instruction, discussions, and school events.

Both full-time and part-time options are available, with typical school hours and a pay rate of $26–$35 per hour. The ideal candidate holds current state interpreter certification (RID/NIC/EIPA preferred), strong interpersonal

Qualifications

• Provide sign language interpretation services for students in educational settings.
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and school-related activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and support staff.
• Opportunities to work with students across PreK–12 grade levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and impartial American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Interpret educational materials, discussions, meetings, and special events.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in accordance with interpreter standards.
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student success.
• Promote communication access while encouraging student independence.
