Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking part-time interpreters to provide sign and spoken language interpreting across classrooms, meetings, and campus events. The role supports students, faculty, and visitors and requires fluent American Sign Language and English, with NAD-RID code adherence.

The position operates on an as-needed basis with a weekly semester schedule and opportunities to work weekdays and occasional weekends, within 8am–10pm hours.

Qualifications

• Associates, Bachelors or Masters level degree OR 3 years of Professional Interpreting Experience
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and English Nationally and State certified or working towards certification
• Commitment to FERPA and ethical interpreting standards

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services to Ivy Tech students, faculty, staff and visitors
• Interpret signed and spoken discourse in classrooms and on campus events
• Engage in preparation and effective customer relations for assignments
• Assess language needs and adjust interpreting to ensure accurate communication
• Maintain accurate timesheets and coordinate with the interpreter coordinator
• Complete required Ivy Lead Trainings in a timely manner
