Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Art History and Visual Literacy on our Dayton, Ohio campus. Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour. Applicants must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be able to work within one of these states.

This position is open to Ohio residents with campus-based, face-to-face instruction during day, evening, and weekend terms. Supplemental questions and required documents are included in the application.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in content area or master's with 18 graduate credit hours in the content area.
• Ability to teach Art History and Visual Literacy with demonstrated knowledge of historical and contemporary visual culture.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to work in a culturally diverse college community.
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with policies.
• Employ teaching strategies and use instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.
