Job summary

Sinclair Community College’s History Department seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses at the Dayton main campus. Responsibilities include delivering curriculum, planning instruction, preparing syllabi, and using instructional technology.

Open to Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky residents; master’s in history or related coursework required. Prior teaching experience preferred, with strong communication and commitment to student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s in history or Master’s plus 18 hours of history grad coursework.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in a college environment.
• Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
• Employ teaching strategies and instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adjunct cannot exceed 12 credit hours per semester.
• Other duties as assigned.
