Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses at our downtown Dayton campus. Morning, afternoon, and evening slots are available with pay starting at $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Open to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or those able to work within these states for tax and benefits compliance. Tuition waiver for 3 credit hours per semester is among the benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in design or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in the field required.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a culturally diverse college community.
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for assigned sections per policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology.
• Modify methods to meet diverse student needs; promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner; maintain records; submit final grade rosters.
