Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face daytime, evening, and weekend courses at our Dayton campus. Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach, with the course catalog listing available options.

Open to residents of OH, IN, or KY or those able to work in one of these states; SCC restricts part-time employment to compliant states for tax and benefits reasons. Benefits include tuition waiver and STRS pension participation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in history with 18 graduate credits in history required.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the History/Humanities/Philosophy department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi in accordance with department policies.
• Employ teaching methods and available instructional technology as appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student learning.
