Job description

Position

Part‑time Anthropology Instructor, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences division.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory courses in anthropology in formats including face‑to‑face, Zoom, asynchronous online, blended synchronous, hyflex, and hybrid.
• Track student attendance and complete census reports.
• Report assessment of student learning outcomes and grades at the conclusion of each semester.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related field.
• Excellent written communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials.

Desirable Qualifications

• ABD or Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field.
• Prior college‑level teaching experience and proficiency with classroom technologies.
• Experience using a learning management system such as D2L Brightspace.
• Online teaching experience, particularly with OSCQR training through SUNY Online.
• Evidence of successful teaching of non‑traditional students.

Compensation

Remuneration for teaching at least 3 credits per semester: $1,008 per lecture hour and $903 per lab hour.
