Job summary

AIM, the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, is seeking a Part-time Aircraft Mechanic Instructor to deliver FAA Part 147-aligned training and mentor students in aircraft maintenance. This role transitions experienced AMTs from the hangar to the classroom while maintaining hands-on instruction in lab and hangar environments.

No prior teaching experience is required; AIM provides a 5-day paid instructor training program to help new instructors succeed in the classroom.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
