Job summary

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor to deliver FAA Part 147-aligned maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction in classrooms and active hangars.

This on-site role is open across our nationwide campus network, with 4- or 5-day schedules, full-time and part-time options, and a sign-on/relocation package at select locations. Prior teaching experience is not required; a 5-day paid instructor training program is provided.

Qualifications

  • Must have minimum 3 years aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Background as A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, or AMT.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques hands-on.
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation techs.
  • Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
  • Create a structured, engaging, safety-focused learning environment.
  • Maintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials.
