Job summary

AIM—the Aviation Institute of Maintenance—seeks an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor to join our Philadelphia campus. This part-time role delivers FAA Part 147-aligned training with hands-on instruction in classroom and hangar settings, mentoring aspiring technicians who will become certified A&Ps.

No prior teaching experience is required; AIM provides a five-day paid instructor training program. Schedule includes Monday-Thursday evenings 4:00pm–11:30pm, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience mentoring and coaching others.
• Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven training environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum in classroom and hangar.
• Deliver hands-on instruction to students preparing for A&P certification.
• Maintain attendance, grades and student progress records.
• Support curriculum updates with program leadership.
• Create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
