Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a Group Leader to supervise and engage youth in grades K-8 during afterschool hours. The role focuses on supervision, homework support, and facilitation of literacy, STEAM, and enrichment activities.

The position emphasizes safety, positive youth development, and adherence to DYCD/DOH/NYCDOE guidelines, with a commitment to a structured, supportive environment and ongoing staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college or coursework in education or youth development strongly preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children (K-8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings.
• Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance.

Responsabilités

• Supervising program participants during program operation, including off-site trips.
• Providing active homework assistance to ensure engagement and support during homework time.
• Planning and implementing engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities.
• Maintaining a safe and organized activity space and ensuring participants follow the schedule.
