Job summary

Right At School is seeking an Educator to work with students in Harvard, IL, delivering before and after school activities, homework support, and enrichment lessons. The role emphasizes creating a safe, structured environment and building positive relationships with children and families.

Pay is $15-18 per hour, depending on education and experience, with program hours in the mornings and afternoons. This on-site position offers flexible part-time shifts within the school setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred).
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with both children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.
