Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking a Classroom Aide to support education, food service, and cleaning duties in a free preschool program in Woodburn, Oregon. The role supports teachers and assistants, helping develop children's cognitive, physical, social-emotional and language skills via curriculum and activities.

Hours are 20–29 per week with an afternoon shift during a 9-month duration, and all benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.
• Pass pre-employment physical examination every two years.
• Pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
• Driving qualification status is not required for this position.
• Experience in early childhood education or Head Start preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and video conferencing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety in the classroom at all times with appropriate supervision of children.
• Ensures children are released only to parent/guardians or authorized adults.
• Supports teacher in developing cognitive, physical, social-emotional and language skills.
• Maintains a positive level of guidance in group situations and handles emergencies calmly.
• Engages with children through talking, playing, singing, and activities.
• Supports classroom setup and material rotation with the team.
• Creates a supportive climate with opportunities for children to connect with staff.
