Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Youth Development Professional (PT) to plan, implement, and supervise activities across education, arts, sports, and life skills for after-school programs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, unless serving in approved YEP program
• Youth Development Professionals assigned to 21st CCLC and DHS programs must be at least 18 years old
• CPR/First Aid certification is required and provided by the organization
• Must successfully complete fingerprint background check, drug screening, mandated reporting, onboarding, and BGCA and BGCL training
• One to twelve months of experience working with children is preferred

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that promotes positive youth development and encourages program participation
• Plan and lead age-appropriate programs, services, and activities for youth in assigned program areas
• Provide guidance, encouragement, and positive role modeling for youth individually and in groups
• Use a warm, respectful, and consistent approach when interacting with youth, staff, families, and partners
• Complete program lesson plans and rosters accurately and on time
• Maintain active supervision and follow safety procedures and BGCL policies
• Monitor spaces for safety concerns and report hazards promptly
• Reinforce behavior expectations and report significant concerns or incidents
• Use two-way radios and other approved communication tools to support supervision
• Follow BGCL campus and field trip transition guidelines
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, youth, families, school personnel, and community partners
• Participate in staff meetings and required training
• Maintain professional standards for attendance, punctuality, dress code, language, and conduct
• Follow call-out procedures and notify supervisor two hours before shift when unable to report
• Refrain from personal cell phone use during working hours unless work-related
• Maintain clean, organized, safe program spaces before, during, and after use
• Ensure equipment and materials are used properly and reported if damaged
• Take out trash and complete basic cleanup after activities
• Perform other duties to support Club operations and safety
