Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier seeks a part-time Youth Development Professional for Mundy Mill in Gainesville, GA. Hours are 2:00 pm–6:30 pm, August through May, with occasional variation. You will plan activities, supervise youth, and ensure a safe, engaging environment that supports learning and growth.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 18+ for certain programs, CPR/First Aid certification, and successful background checks. Experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, unless serving in an approved YEP program
• Youth Development Professionals assigned to 21st CCLC and DHS programs must be at least 18 years old
• CPR/First Aid certification is required and provided by the organization
• Must successfully complete fingerprint background check, drug screening, mandated reporting, onboarding, and BGCA/BGCL training requirements
• One to twelve months of experience working with children is preferred

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment that promotes positive youth development and program participation
• Plan and lead age-appropriate programs and activities for youth
• Provide guidance and positive role modeling for youth
• Interact with youth, staff, families, and partners in a respectful, warm manner
• Complete program lesson plans and rosters accurately and on time
• Maintain active supervision and follow safety procedures
• Monitor spaces for safety concerns and report hazards
• Reinforce behavior expectations and report incidents
• Use radios and other tools to support supervision and safety
• Follow campus transition guidelines for on-campus and field trips
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, and partners
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings
• Maintain professional attendance, dress code, and conduct
• Notify supervisor at least two hours prior to a shift if unable to work
• Limit personal phone use during working hours unless authorized
• Keep spaces clean, organized, and safe
• Ensure equipment and supplies are stored properly and report damages
• Assist with youth meals during programs as needed
• Perform other duties to support Club operations
