Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of NE Florida is seeking a Certified Teacher to support youth ages 6 to 18 through tutoring, homework help, and reading enrichment in a club setting in Jacksonville, FL. The role emphasizes safety, mentorship, and character development while implementing structured programs.

The position is part-time (2.5–3 hours daily, 2 PM–7 PM) with a focus on ensuring members graduate on time and achieve academic goals. Requires Florida teaching certification and background screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or National Teaching Accreditation.
• Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success.
• Provide individual tutoring and homework assistance to Club members and assist volunteers.
• Design, plan and facilitate activities around homework assignments to increase interest and enrichment.
• Provide tutoring for high-risk students identified below grade level or with low test scores in language, reading, math and science.
• Assist students with special homework assignments and projects.
• Become familiar with current textbooks and learning materials used by students.
• Plan and organize a range of program services and activities for members; promote and stimulate participation.
• Monitor and evaluate program achievement against goals and participate in weekly Club staff meetings.
