Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs Of Northeast Florida is seeking a Certified Teacher (Ed White HS) in Jacksonville, FL. This part-time role focuses on tutoring, homework assistance, and reading enrichment for youth aged 6 to 18, with a 2:00 PM–7:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday.

The position emphasizes youth development, safety, and inclusion of character development and diverse programming, under supervision of the Program Director/Unit Director.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or National Teaching Accreditation.
• Experience: knowledge of youth development; ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues; ability to work with the public; ability to plan and implement quality programs; ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success by providing tutoring and homework assistance to Club members.
• Design, plan and facilitate activities around homework assignments to increase engagement.
• Tutor high-risk students below grade level or with low test scores in language, reading, math, and science.
• Assist students with special homework assignments and projects.
• Familiarize with current textbooks and learning materials used by students.
