Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• At least one year of teaching experience or one year in childcare or school setting.
• Must pass a criminal background check and TB test.
• Ability to identify, resolve, and communicate problems and solutions promptly and respectfully.
• Objectivity and openness to feedback from others.
• Follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction; take responsibility for actions.
• Prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently.
• Maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and parent information.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and coaching to scholars from Preschool to 8th grade.
• Use developmentally appropriate strategies for behavior management and maintain a safe environment.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and other common areas to ensure safety and individualized attention.
• Attend occasional special events with additional hours compensated at an hourly rate.
• Act as a positive role model to scholars and colleagues.
• Maintain open communication with scholars’ teachers and parents regarding academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional strengths and growth areas.
• Demonstrate strong organization and meet deadlines consistently.
• Communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal, and written skills; ensure written materials are clear and correct.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Be reliable and on time for after-care shifts and meetings.
• Show adaptability and flexibility.
• Be willing to work outdoors with youth.
• Track student attendance daily.
• Complete and submit incident reports as needed.
