Job summary

The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking energetic After School Counselors to support the Kroc Academy program. This part-time role helps create a safe, engaging environment for children after school, offering guidance, homework help, and enrichment activities.

You will work Monday through Friday, 2:00pm–6:00pm, up to 19 hours per week, and earn $15.00 per hour. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring youth and making a positive community impact.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older to meet childcare licensing requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their growth and development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with children, families, and coworkers.
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility in responding to varied learning and behavioral needs.
• Prior experience in childcare, tutoring, education, or youth programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with homework and provide academic encouragement.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
• Work collaboratively with other counselors to plan activities and themed projects.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding daily activities and student progress.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating respect, patience, and teamwork.
