Job summary

The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking a Youth Programs Assistant to support after-school programs, day camps, and enrichment activities. The role involves planning activities, supporting staff and volunteers, communicating with parents, and maintaining records.

Position offers a 25-hour work week with a schedule based on programming needs. Pay ranges from $17.36 to $21.71 per hour and requires passing a Salvation Army background check and DOT driver qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children in recreational, educational, childcare, after school, or camp setting.
• Basic knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to administer medications following training and established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparing, and implementing youth programs, after school activities, and day camps.
• Organize program supplies, materials, and activity spaces.
• Safely transport youth participants using Salvation Army vehicles with DOT compliance.
• Provide guidance and support to youth program staff and volunteers.
• Maintain attendance records, registrations, and program documentation.
• Assist with enrollment, recordkeeping, and database management.
