Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. in Reading, MA is seeking enthusiastic instructors for after-school chess sessions with elementary students. This role involves leading classes, following a structured curriculum, and promoting sportsmanship in a fun, engaging environment.

You will travel between local school sites, teach 1–5 classes per week in the 2:00 PM–5:00 PM window, and receive mileage reimbursement for travel over 15 miles one way. Training and full support are provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Experience with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently with engaging, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor and role modeling.
• Strong chess fundamentals; explain moves, basic strategy, and simple tactics to kids.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using a structured curriculum.
