Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Abington, MA. If you love chess and working with elementary students, this side-hustle offers flexible hours and a supportive training environment.

Lead engaging lessons using our curriculum, promote good sportsmanship, and travel between local school sites. You’ll teach 1–5 classes per week, typically 2:00 PM–5:00 PM, with mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one-way.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, engaging sessions for kids.
• Professional, positive demeanor and reliable punctuality.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves, basic strategy, and simple tactics to children.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students at local schools.
• Use Chess Wizards curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking during lessons.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session and arrive prepared.
