Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking a Chess Instructor to lead small-group lessons for elementary students after school. You’ll use our curriculum to teach piece movement, basic strategy, and sportsmanship to 10–20 kids, with paid training and a flexible, part-time schedule.

A reliable vehicle and the ability to lift teaching materials are preferred. Pay starts at $55 per hour, with opportunities for ongoing training and staff events.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the rules and basic strategy of chess, or willing to learn.
• Experience or interest in working with elementary-age children; classroom experience is a plus.
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate basic chess rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Responsible for storing and maintaining teaching equipment.
