Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy seeks an After School Teacher to guide elementary students in chess after school, using our curriculum in a small-group setting. You will receive thorough, paid training and become part of a program that has taught chess to over 120,000 children in 19 years.

Pay starts at $55 per hour for the after-school club, with a schedule that fits 2:45pm arrival through 4:00pm pickup; flexibility and a reliable vehicle are helpful for transportation and equipment setup.

Qualifications

• Available at least 3 weekdays during the school year between 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
• Reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use curriculum to teach basic chess rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain all teaching equipment and materials.
• Supervise parent pickup.
