Job summary

St. Anne’s-Belfield School is seeking a part-time After School Care Assistant for Grades 5-8 for the 2026-2027 year. The role runs generally 2:30 - 5:30 on weekdays, with some flexibility, and may include full days during teacher workdays.

The position involves supervising children, assisting with activities, preparing materials, and ensuring safety in a classroom and play environment. High school degree required; 1 year childcare experience preferred; 18+ years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in childcare is preferred but not required.
• Ability to supervise children and maintain safety in group settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and engages with children's play and projects.
• Assists in group activities and transitions.
• Prepares needed materials and supplies.
• Observes playground and other activities to ensure safety at all times.
• Prepares classroom and snack materials.
• Maintains a neat and organized classroom and play area.
• Assist in safe arrival and dismissal of students in the program.
• Reports to director any problem which may occur with the children.
• Circulates amongst group of students to build relationships with variety of children.
• Supports during employee childcare on teacher workdays throughout the year and at start/end of academic year.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
